Unemployment continues to fall

The jobless total fell for the sixth month in a row in August and now stands at 414,000 people, the national statistics office CBS said on Thursday.
Since March, the jobless total has fallen by some 6,000 people a month, the CBS said. It did not give percentages.
The number of people registered with UWV jobs agencies as looking for work is down 2,000 at 492,000 while unemployment benefit (ww) claims fell 4,000 to 281,000, the CBS said.
The UWV register includes people who are looking for jobs of under 12 hours a week.
