His comment came as a senior VVD official criticised the way the queen’s new negotiator Herman Tjeenk Willink was doing his job, using the microblogging service.
Opstelten had talks with Tjeenk Willink on Friday morning. Tjeenk Willink will now write a report for the queen about the current state of play in the formation talks.
Tjeenk Willink has been looking at the chances of talks to form a stable government involving the VVD, CDA and anti-Islam PVV actually succeeding.
PVV leader Geert Wilders is quoted as saying in the NRC that a couple of hefty obstacles still need to be overcome. The commonly-held perception that the agreement can be finalised in five minutes is wrong, Wilders said.
