Serbian not guilty of gangland attempted murder

A Serbian national has been found not guilty of the attempted murder of Amsterdam gangster Cor van Hout by judges in Haarlem.

Van Hout, who was jailed in the 1980s for kidnapping beer magnate Freddie Heineken, was shot in his car in 1996 but survived the attack.
Witnesses had identified Milorad P from surveillance footage but the judges ruled the images were too vague to make a positive id.
Van Hout was killed in a second shooting in 2003
The public prosecution department is to appeal against the decision
