Thursday 02 September 2010
Football club Real Madrid has lost €68m on the sale of its six Dutch players, news agency ANP reports on Thursday, quoting a Spanish paper.
Buying Rafael van der Vaart, Royston Drenthe, Ruud van Nistelrooij, Wesley Sneijder, Arjen Robben and Klaas-Jan Huntelaar cost the club a total €127.5m.
But their combined sale price is €59m, meaning the club lost €68.5m.
The loan of Van Drenthe to Hercules Alicante and transfer of Van der Vaart to Tottenham Hotspur brings the Dutch era at Real to an end.
The other four have already left.
