Foreign visitors spend €4bn on trips to the Netherlands

Foreign tourists and business visitors spent €4bn on holidays in the Netherlands last year, the tourism board NBTC said on Tuesday, news agency Novum reports.
Of that amount €1.4bn was spent on getting to the Netherlands and the rest on hotels, museums, entertainment and souvenirs, the tourist board said.
The proportion of tourists in the total has now risen from 55% in 2000 to 70% last year, the NBTC said.
The percentage of foreign visitors going to museums has gone up from 31% to 41% over the past five years.
