Fewer Rotterdam immigrants are suspected of crime

Fewer people of Moroccan and Antillean origin came under suspicion of committing crimes in Rotterdam last year, according to Erasmus University research for the city council.
The percentage of Antillean locals who are suspected of involvement in crime fell from 8.8% in 2008 to 7.2% last year, the research showed. Some 4.6% of Moroccans came under suspicion last year, down from 6.2% in 2008.
Some 2% of the population come under the police spotlight.
