Akzo Nobel and TNT are among the world's most sustainable companies, according to the latest Dow Jones sustainability index.
Dutch firms top the list in four of the 19 categories; Akzo Nobel is top chemicals firm, Unilever leads the food and drink ranking, TNT is the top industrial goods and services firm and Philips the best personal and household goods firm.
In addition, French-Dutch airline Air France-KLM is the best travel and leisure organisation.
The index is based on 'a thorough analysis of corporate economic, environmental and social performance' including 'corporate governance, risk management, branding, climate change mitigation, supply chain standards and labour practices.'
