American pilot arrested at Schipol for drinking

An American pilot was taken from a commercial airliner at Schiphol airport on Tuesday and arrested after a breath test showed he had alcohol in his blood, CNN reports on Wednesday.

Under aviation rules pilots are not allowed to operate an aircraft within eight hours of having consumed alcohol, CNN said.
The flight, thought to be a Delta Air Lines flight from Amsterdam to Newark, was cancelled.
According to Bloomberg, the authorities acted after a tip off.
