Liberals get tough on public transport

The Liberal VVD in Amsterdam announced on Tuesday that it wants to bring in a permanent ban for habitual nuisance-makers in trams, buses and metro.

In addition, and following Rotterdam’s lead, it wants to encourage people to text message or Twitter cases of vandalism or violence on public transport.
Other methods it is considering to combat unsocial behaviour on public transport are body searches and price lists showing the fines for vandalism, reports the Parool.
