The increase is largely due to the rise in gas prices which is now being passed on to consumers, the CBS said. Gas and electricity price rises are included in household bills twice a year, in January and July.
Harmonised for European inflation calculations, the Dutch consumer price index rose 1.3% in July, up 0.2 percentage points on June.
