Dutch school in Uruzgan attacked

The Timo school in Shah Mansoor in Uruzgan has been badly damaged in an attack, aid organisation Save the Children said on Tuesday.

The school, financed with money collected in the Netherlands, was the initiative of the family of Timo Smeehuijzen, the soldier killed in 2007 during a suicide bombing in Tarin Kowt. Around 250 children attend the school, half of them girls.
What form the attack took is not yet known, Save the Children’s spokeswoman told news agency ANP. The school is now closed.
