Workers save up more cash to fund time off

Workers invested a record €908m in levensloopregelingen – work-related saving schemes to fund extra time off – in 2009, the national statistics office CBS said on Monday.

It is the first time since the scheme was introduced over four years ago that the amount invested has gone up.
The CBS says the probable rise in the pension age from 65 to 67 is likely to be behind the 10% increase.
