Three people dominate Schiphol noise hotline

Three people living close to Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport are responsible for 95% of complaints about aircraft noise which have soared this year, news agency Novum reports on Friday.


In total, 12,329 complaints were made to the residents hotline in the second quarter of this year, up from 1,816 a year ago. Of those, 73.5% came from one person and two others took the total to 95%.
There were 77 different complainants this year, compared with 99 in the same period of 2009.
