Pay rises lowest in nearly five years
Wages rose by an average 1.2% in the second quarter of this year, the lowest average increase since the end of 2005, the national statistics office CBS said on Monday.
A year earlier, pay rises averaged 3%.
The increase in cost of the pay deals to employers was 1.4%, including extra payments for pensions and training.
The highest increase was booked in the health and welfare sectors, where pay rose by an average 2.2%, costing employers 2.7%.
