Only one in 13 jobless people aged over 55 gets another job, according to new research from the state run job centres UWV.


And employers with vacancies to fill are much more likely to take someone who has another job, the research shows. Only 25% of vacancies were filled by someone who was previously without work.
Some 22% of the people on the UWV’s books are over the age of 55, and the over-55s account for half the long-term jobless.
