Joran van der Sloot, the Dutch man charged with murdering a Peruvian woman last week, has told Peruvian police he knows where the body of missing US teenager Natalee Holloway is, according to media reports.

Van der Sloot has twice been arrested and released in connection with the disappearance of the 18-year-old on the holiday island of Aruba five years ago. He was never charged but has twice given different stories about what happened to the girl.
The claim is made in summaries of police interviews with Van der Sloot which have been released to the press.
Van der Sloot, 22, is also facing charges of trying to blackmail Holloway’s mother into paying him money in return for the location of her daughter’s body.
