Unemployment drops again

The jobless total fell by some 7,000 between March and May, the second period in a row the unemployment rate has gone down, the national statistics office CBS said on Thursday.

However, it is still too soon to say that the year-long rise in unemployment has ended, the CBS said.
The number of people registered with the UWV employment agencies as jobseekers fell by 10,000 over the same period, while the number of unemployment benefit claims fell for the third month in a row, the CBS said.
Some 5.6% of the working population is officially without a job, one percentage point higher than a year ago.
