Ministerial appointees take charge of overspending benefit agency

Caretaker social affairs minister Piet Hein Donner has appointed three outsiders to take charge of the financial chaos at the state benefit agencies (UWV).

The organisation has overspent this year’s budget of €126m for reintegration projects by €69m – well above earlier estimates.
This shows there may be ‘more than an incidental problem’ at the agency, the Financieele Dagblad quotes Donner as saying.
