Look at the right wing again, Cohen tells cabinet negotiator

Coalition negotiator Uri Rosenthal should take a second serious look at the option of forming a right-wing cabinet between the VVD Liberals, Christian Democrats and Geert Wilders’ anti-Islam PVV, Labour leader Job Cohen said on Wednesday night.

Speaking on a tv talk show, Cohen said such a coalition had not been looked at properly.
Last week, talks on forming a coalition between the three parties collapsed.
CDA leader Maxime Verhagen had refused to join in until the VVD and Wilders had agreed their position on a number of key areas. These include ethnic registration, a tax on Muslim headscarves and economic policy.
Meanwhile, the NRC reports that Rosenthal will hold talks with D66 leader Alexander Pechtold and GroenLinks leader Femke Halsema on Thursday.
The talks are the second stage of Rosenthal’s assessment of the likelihood of forming a cross party cabinet of the two Liberal parties, Labour, GroenLinks and the Christian Democrats.
