Dutch families caught up in French floods

Around 1,000 Dutch nationals have been caught up in the heavy rains and flash floods which have hit south eastern France, according to media reports.

Some 20 people were killed and at least 12 are still missing after torrential rain hit the mountains above the Cote D’Azur region on Tuesday.
A spokesman for Dutch emergency help coordinator Eurocross said two of its staff have arrived in the disaster zone to help Dutch families whose tents, caravans and cars have been washed away in the floods.
No Dutch people are thought to be among the casualities, he said.
