Councillor Wilders cost The Hague €50,000

The Hague city council spent €50,000 on extra security during Geert Wilders’ short period as a city councillor, the AD reports on Thursday.


Wilders, leader of the anti-Islam PVV, attended five council meetings at a cost of €10,000 each, the paper calculates.
Wilders, who is resigning his seat because of the pressure of his parliamentary work, did not speak in council meetings and had no portfolio of responsibilities, the paper said. He did get €2,138.88 a month in allowances to carry out his duties, the paper said.
