Bosnian Serbs sentenced for Srebrenica massacre

The UN war crimes court in The Hague has sentenced two Bosnian Serbs to life in jail for genocide over their role in the Srebrenica massacre in 1995.

Four other men and one police officer were jailed for between five and 35 years for related offences.
Srebrenica was declared a safe area under the guard of lightly-armed Dutch troops during the 1992-95 Bosnian war but came under attack from Bosnian Serb forces. Some 7,000 Muslim boys and men, who relied on the protection of the Dutch soliders, were taken away and killed.
