Meanwhile, in domestic football, Rotterdam club Sparta has been relegated to the first division after a 1-1 draw against city stablemates Excelsior.
The away win, on top of a 0-0 tally in the first leg of the relegation battle last week, was enough to put Excelsior back into the top league after two years.
Tilburg’s Willem II managed to keep its premier division place after beating Go Ahead Eagles 3-0 in the second leg, after extra time.
