Healthcare trade schools to stem staff shortages

The government is setting up a string of trade schools which focus on the healthcare sector in an effort to combat the shortage of staff, the Telegraaf reports on Tuesday.

Ten schools will be launched in August and there will be 60 in five years time, health minister Ab Klink is reported as saying.
‘The heathcare trade school is essential for the Netherlands,’ Klink said. ‘For example, the shortage in operating theatre assistants is forcing hospitals to recruit staff in India this year.’
