Animal party leader to work with Paul McCartney
Monday 31 May 2010
Marianne Thieme, leader of the animal rights party PvdD, is to work with Paul McCartney on developing a campaign for meat free Mondays, she says in an interview with news website nu.nl.
The campaign was set up by vegetarian McCartney and his daughters Stella and Mary to encourage people not to eat meat one day a week.
Thieme says she was invited to meet the ex-Beatle last year after he saw a photograph of her wearing a Meat Free Monday hat on budget day. She declined to give any more details about the alliance.
