'Al-Qaeda is not targeting Dutch football team, fans'Tuesday 25 May 2010 Islamic terrorist organisation al-Qaeda has dismissed claims it is planning to attack Dutch and Danish players and fans during the World Cup in South Africa as 'cheap lies', the Telegraaf reports on Tuesday. The paper says al-Qaeda denied the claims, made earlier this month to news agency AP, in a statement published on a number of Islamic websites. An alleged al-Qaeda militant, who was arrested in Iraq, told news agency AP he had talked to friends about attacking Danish and Dutch teams at the World Cup in South Africa next month. But no steps have yet been taken to put the plan into motion, such as obtaining bomb-making materials and the plot still needed approval from the al-Qaeda chain of command, AP quoted the suspect as saying. © DutchNews.nl
"Islamic terrorist organization"? it makes them sound almost legitimate, like they have a recognized charter or something. By Buzzer | May 25, 2010 7:25 PM Since when are we supposed to accept and/or believe a power crazy criminal based cult that uses religion as a front, when we cannot even trust our own government? tic-tic-tic... Al-Qaeda, thanks a lot for telling us. Now we can breathe with relief and travel to South Africa. Can you also guarantee Bali? That's where we will chill after the world cup. Please let us know.
