Second PVV candidate MP pulls out

Gidi Markuszower, number five on the list of potential MPs for Geert Wilders’ PVV party has pulled out of the campaign, citing too much media attention.

‘Over the past two weeks I have come to experience what it is like to be constantly under a negative magnifying glass… I do not wish to go through the next four years like this,’ he said in a statement.
Markuszower has come under close media scrutiny for his right-wing Israeli links and for being questioned by police two years ago for carrying a gun in public at celebrations to mark 60 years since the founding of Israel.
Last week, number nine on the list withdrew for ‘medical reasons’ after her cv was found to be inaccurate.
