Airlines were given the green light to go ahead with night flights from Dutch airports on Tuesday night, as aviation safety experts said the threat from a cloud of volcanic ash had receeded.

But each flight will need to be approved on a case by case basis, news agency ANP said.
Earlier, transport minister Camiel Eurlings has said all take-offs after 9pm would be banned out of safety considerations.
European transport ministers decided on Monday the risk posed by volcanic ash from Iceland has been reduced and flying can resume in some parts of European airspace, including the Netherlands.
They had come under increasing pressure from airlines who had carried out a number of test flights without problems.
