Friday 23 April 2010
Some 140 victims of the 1999 outbreak of legionnaires disease which killed at least 32 people in the Netherlands are to share a €1m compensation package, Trouw reports on Friday.
In total 242 people become ill in the outbreak, which was traced to an outdoor whirlpool bath at a garden show in Bovenkarspel, Noord-Holland.
People who lost income because they were unable to work get the maximum payout of €75,000. Most of the victims were pensioners and will get less, Trouw says.
