Random car search yields 71kg of cocaine
Thursday 11 March 2010
Traffic checks in the town of Halfweg between Amsterdam and Haarlem yielded a €71kg haul of cocaine from one car, news agency ANP reports on Thursday.
The driver apparently abandoned the car when he spotted the police checks. The drugs, which have now been destroyed, were valued at several million euros, ANP said.
The car's owner later told police he had lent the vehicle to someone else.
