Police officer admits to killing 12-year-old Milly

A 26-year-old police officer has admitted killing 12-year-old Milly Boele on the evening she went missing from her home in Dordrecht, a justice ministry official said on Wednesday.

The girl’s body was found buried in the garden of the officer’s home, opposite to where Milly and her parents lived.
It is unclear if the girl was sexually assaulted. A post mortem is to be carried out on Friday.
Neighbour
Milly’s last contact with her parents was a phone call, shortly before she disappeared. During the conversation she reportedly told her mother a ‘neighbour’ was at the door. Police said earlier the girl had spoken about a ‘man’.
Investigators had questioned all local men, including the police officer who aroused suspicion with some of his answers, the Telegraaf said.
He later confessed the murder to his girlfriend who persuaded him to go to the police on Tuesday afternoon.
The suspect, Sander V, has been a police officer for five years. He has not yet given any motive for the crime, the Telegraaf said.
