Labour in clear lead in latest pollFriday 19 March 2010 The effect of the appointment of Job Cohen as Labour's election campaign leader is continuing to boost the party's fortunes in the opinion polls, with a new poll by Synovate giving the social democrats 33 seats. That is an increase of seven on the party's standing a week ago, before Wouter Bos resigned and the Amsterdam mayor was announced as his successor. In second place are the Christian Democrats, who have gone up one seat to 28, despite continuing unease about the performance of party leader and prime minister Jan Peter Balkenende. Geert Wilders' anti-Islam PVV is down one seat in third place at 23.

Normally is called respect on beliefs, and is a real Dutch value. By the way, what are the impostured Dutch values that PVV preaches? Nobody knows them. "immigration must be halted to a safe level". Again the question here is defining what is 'too much'. According to the city council, a third of habitants in New York, has not born in USA. Is it too much? May be for you, but not for them. But in any case, yea man, you guys, Saladin is at Amsterdam's doors, and yesterday i saw a stranger carrying a suitcase at Central Station. So please, vote for Wilders, just to preserve our values and security. By zenplus | March 22, 2010 1:09 PM No Tjeerd, the Swiss vote was on a subject, not a vote for a party or a leader. The majority of us Dutch want a better control and change in immigration policy and dealing with the non-integration stand of radicalized communities and we may even vote for a strong response but it certainly does not mean we will vote for the PVV and Wilders which most of us think is ugly, racist and with a hidden facist agenda. Add to that our history is full of local elections being based on local issues alone and protest votes but when it comes to general national votes it is the concern of making a good strong government that counts and that means the main (and legitimate) parties and their platforms are important. we are now understanding the reality on the ground. PVV is just noise making party without any economical agenda.Cant even form government in Almere.
