'Jack the Pricker' confesses to stabbings
Wednesday 10 March 2010
A 25-year-old man arrested last week in connection with four stabbing incidents in Lelystad has confessed to the crimes, the public prosecution department said on Wednesday.
The man, nicknamed Jack the Pricker by newspapers, is said to have stabbed four people in a string of unprovoked attacks between December 2008 and spring 2009. One of the victims died.
The man is currently being held in a psychiatric prison in Heiloo. He has been there since his arrest in April last year after a stabbing incident at a hostel for the homeless.
The public prosecution department said the man, who has not been named, simply 'wanted to stab someone'.
