Hockey team makes World Cup semi finals

Wednesday 10 March 2010

The Dutch mens hockey team has reached the semi finals of the World Cup in New Delhi thanks to a superior goal tally over South Korea.

Ironically, the Dutch squad lost to the South Koreans 2-1 in the last match of the group stage.

Oranje will play Australia in the one semi final on Thursday. Defending champions Germany take on England in the other.

What else would it be - ice hockey?
It might be field hockey to North Americans, but it's hockey to everyone else. ;-)

to JD: (It's hockey to everyone else), except for the Swedes, Finns, Czechs, Swiss, Russians, Slovaks, and Norwegians. Did I miss anyone? Hockey's on ice unless it's field hockey.....then it's with skirts. ;)

Could be ice hockey except the sports power here has blinders unless it is speed skating. Too bad.

Any country that has a player in NHL, that takes part in Winter olympics, that plays in A league championships means ice hockey when you say hockey. All the rest kinds of hockey is for schoolkids.
