The funeral of Hans van Mierlo, the man who founded the Liberal democratic party D66, will take place quietly on Thursday.

Van Mierlo died last week at the age of 78. A memorial meeting for Van Mierlo will be held at the Rode Hoed meeting rooms in Amsterdam on March 23.
