Dick Advocaat tipped as next Russian coach
Thursday 18 March 2010
Russian media are reporting that Dick Advocaat is poised to take over as coach of the Russian national side following the departure of fellow Dutchman Guus Hiddink, Trouw states on Thursday.
Advocaat is currently Belgian national coach and acting coach at Alkmaar's premier division side AZ.
Paper Sport Express says Advocaat will sign the contract later this month.
Worth noting, says Trouw, is that the current head of the Russian football association is Sergei Fursenko. He worked together with Advocaat when the Dutchman took Zenit St Petersburg to the national and Uefa cup titles.
