Cyclist Dekker suspended for two years
Wednesday 03 March 2010
Dutch cyclist Thomas Dekker has been suspended for two years for doping offences, the Telegraaf reports on Wednesday.
Dekker, 25, was provisionally suspended last July when retroactive tests on a urine sample from December 2007 found traces of Dynepo, a type of performance-enhancing drug.
According to website Velonation.com, he initially denied doping but admitted using the drug after the B-sample was also positive.
The Monaco cycling union has now agreed to suspend him until 2011. He cycles under licence to Monaco.
