CDA rules out new coalition with LabourTuesday 02 March 2010 Caretaker prime minister Jan Peter Balkenende on Tuesday ruled out forming a new coalition with the Labour party after the June 9 general election. 'The voter would not understand it if we worked together again a couple of months after letting the cabinet collapse,' he told television station RTLZ. Labour pulled out of the cabinet at the end of February because of divisions over extending the Dutch military mission in Afghanistan. Labour leader Wouter Bos said on Monday he could not imagine forming a new coalition with the CDA. Based on the lastest polls, at least three parties will be needed to form a coalition with more than 75 seats in the 150-seat lower house of parliament. © DutchNews.nl
ooh if CDA want to re- marriage with the PVDA ,then why they collapse and not sit on the round table before and solve the problem, tottaly waste of money and the people's time that all... By Nadeem | March 2, 2010 3:37 PM Keep Labour out of the political mix... they are bad news. Labour is mostly an obstructionist party of shortsighted ideologues. By Buzzer | March 2, 2010 3:46 PM JPB and CDA do not rule out any party(refer to recent P&W talk show) and this is in my opinion the right thing to do, if you want to govern a country. On the other hand they rightly indicate that it will be very difficult to form a coalition with PVV. A coalition with PvdA is unlikely although not 100% impossible. This is what Realpolitik is all about. And so it should be. Or do we want to become a second Italy with more than 125 cabinets after WW II?? Most people do not realize sufficiently the hardships we are going to face. We must work together in spite of our differences. Thi s requires tough negotiations.
