Bishops agree to independent abuse inquiryTuesday 09 March 2010 Catholic bishops have agreed to an independent inquiry into child sexual abuse at boarding schools across the country. The bishops are 'deeply affected by the shocking stories of sexual abuse which have emerged over the past few days,' according to an official statement. Since the story broke last weekend, over 200 people have registered sexual abuse at the hands of church officials with the church organisation set up to help victims. © DutchNews.nl
If this story runs along the same lines as the ones in the UK, Ireland, US etc then we shall see that the same Bishops that are pretending to be so shocked and deeply affected will be the ones that covered up the child abuse and moved their colleagues around to protect them from the law. It's sad that stories of child abuse by the Catholic clergy are now so predictable and commonplace. I blame the Catholic church's teaching on sex, masturbation, and celibacy. Their doctrines have no place in modern, enlightened times. By Mark | March 10, 2010 7:46 AM I certainly do not want to come over as aggressive as langer. I too worship at the alter of atheism but I am not someone that tries to berate others for their beliefs except where those beliefs have an impact on my life. It has been my experience that a majority of Christians try to lead good lives and generally the church tries to do good works for their communities. Some of their followers are clearly not prepared to by the rules of the club and it would be in the best interest of that club to actively seek out and expel those members. This will reassure those of us outside that they truly regret their actions and it will allow their own followers to know that they can hold their head high and say they are Christians. What a crock of shit. I wonder what kinda sin kiddie fiddeling is. Since Benedict got rid of purgatory where are all these priests going to go. Straight to hell. It nearly makes me believe, the possibility of these guys burning for eternity. But this is as likely to happen as the church and government putting these guys away. All i can say is it is a sad world where a spiritual leader is allowed to take advantage of those who cant take care of themselves. I'd like to see a priest try to bum me.
Just let the priests and nuns get married. The whole selbasy thing is a man made concept anyway. Its like the smoking ban if it was really for health then they would ban cigarettes. If God wanted celebate representatives surely he could have made priests with no cocks and nuns with no vag. There are loadsa different types of animals. Or did he just get lazy with us.
No its not that. Its that he doesnt exist and people have the capacity for good and evil and people in a position of power will 9 times outta 10 take the piss. Sad but true.
I have said it before and i will say it again.
