Unemployment rises to 5.6%

The Dutch official unemployment rate rose to 5.6% in the period November to January, the national statistics office CBS said on Thursday.


In total, 435,000 people are now registered as looking for work, an increase of 131,000 on a year ago. Two-thirds of the newly jobless are men.
