After the breakdown in law and order on New Years eve the police are out in force to prove their potency and authority. They feel the heat from the attention drawn to their impotency to catch actual criminals so take to the streets looking out for people with no cycle lights, etc, etc.

This is both unbelieveable and pathetic! How do people get newly purchased knives home from the shops ?
Whatever happened to the country famous for its liberal easy-going attitude? And I thought we had all the over-zealous pedantic 'jobs-worths' in the UK.
Is there really nothing more pressing for the police in Staphorst to do? If not then I suggest the need for them should be reviewed urgently.

People riding bicycles without lights should spend at least a weekend in jail! I was hit by one of those jerks who ran into me with no lights!! I wonder if Winter Kills would also want police to ignore auto drivers who ride with no lights. I rather doubt it.

I don't understand. Is carrying a knife in the privacy of your car illegal in the Netherlands? Are the Dutch afraid drivers will perform drive-by stabbings?

2010 Happy New Year - Typical Police, getting started with their 'Fines Target's' for the year !. Jesus Christ if the woman had the proof that she obtained the knife on a legal basis, it would of looked worse if she had it on her person at least she had the sense to keep it in her glove compartment, if she had more shopping to do. This country is trully going backwards.
