Satellite problem takes radio stations off air

Thursday 28 January 2010

Many commercial radio stations have been off air or difficult to hear since Wednesday evening as a result of problems with the Eutelsat W2 satellite, according to telecom concern KPN, reports the Volkskrant.

Stations such as Sky Radio, Radio Veronica and BNR Nieuwsradio were among those affected.

The cause of the satellite problem and how long it will take to put right is unknown, a KPN spokesman told the paper.
