The McLaren Formula 1 racing team has signed up 14-year-old Dutch teenager Nyck de Vries for its young drivers' development programme, the Telegraaf reports on Friday.
De Vries currently races go carts.
'Nyck shows a great deal of future promise and we want to support him in all possible ways on his road to success,' McLaren's racing chief Martin Whitmarsh was quoted by the paper as saying.
Anthony Hamilton, the father of Formula 1 champion Lewis will take charge of De Vries's training, the paper says. Lewis Hamilton began his racing career on go carts at the age of eight.
