Jobs to go again at Corus Nederland

A European reorganisation at steel group Corus will cost jobs in the Netherlands, the company’s European works council says in Tuesday’s Financieele Dagblad.

The plans are still being finalised and both Corus CEO Kirby Adams and Dutch director Theo Henrar stress they are still only intentions, the paper says. Nevertheless, there are still direct and indirect implications for the number of jobs in the Netherlands, the works council said in a statement.
Corus is now part of Indian industrial conglomerate Tata Steel. Corus Nederland is currently in the middle of an earlier reorganisation involving the loss of 800 jobs at the IJmuiden steel works, the paper says.
