Ideal payment system grows in popularity
Online payments totalling €45m were made using the Dutch banks’ iDEAL internet cash transfer system last year, according to bank traffic company Currence.
In total, some 39% of internet payments were made using iDEAL. PayPal has just 4% of the Dutch market.
The number of iDEAL payments rose 63% last year and four out of five online shops now offer this form of payment, Currence said.
