A further eight people have died of swine flu in the Netherlands, bringing the death toll to 50, the public health institute RIVM said on Friday.


At the same time, the number of people reporting to their doctors with flu-like symptoms has fallen to 6.1 per 10,000 of the population – the third weekly decline in a row.
The number of people admitted to hospital last week was 104, less than half the previous week’s total. Some 2,068 people have been hospitalised with swine flu since the epidemic spread to the Netherlands.
