Spyker last candidate for Saab: FD
Wednesday 16 December 2009
Dutch luxury car maker Spyker is the last candidate to take over Saab from General Motors, the Financieele Dagblad reports.
GM chairman Ed Whiteacre is quoted in the paper as saying that Spyker is the only company still in the running to take over the struggling Swedish firm and that it should be possible to seal a deal before the end of the year.
'I am keeping my fingers crossed,' he was quoted as telling news agency Dow Jones.
Spyker hopes to get a €400m loan from the European Investment Bank to fund the acquisition.
