Wednesday 30 December 2009
Shell will almost double its investment in research at biofuel start-up Codexis to $60m this year, the Wall Street Journal reports.
The information comes from documents filed with the US financial authorities ahead of Codexis' proposed launch on the Nasdaq stock exchange.
Shell has a 20% stake in Codexis which develops 'super enzymes' to speed up the chemical reactions used to turn non-edible grasses into ethanol and diesel.
