Shell will almost double its investment in research at biofuel start-up Codexis to $60m this year, the Wall Street Journal reports.

Shell has a 20% stake in Codexis which develops ‘super enzymes’ to speed up the chemical reactions used to turn non-edible grasses into ethanol and diesel.
