Security guard doused in petrol
A security guard helping refill a cash point machine in the east of Amsterdam was doused in petrol by armed men who then made off with the money, the Parool reports on Thursday.
Two security guards were at the atm on the city’s Java straat when they were approached by two men in balaclavas and armed with guns. When they refused to hand over the money, one robber threw petrol over one of the guards and threatened to set him on fire. The men then handed over the cash.
The robbers made their getaway on a scooter.
‘This is an extremely serious and rare crime,’ a police spokesman told the paper.
