Public transport back to normal after snow

Trains and bus services returned to normal on Friday after the major disruption caused by Thursday’s heavy snowfall.

Dutch Rail continued to operate until around 2.30am, when all stranded passengers had been brought home, a spokeswoman told news agency ANP.
Bus company Qbuzz, which abandoned services in Groningen, Friesland and Drenthe on Thursday said on its website, services had been resumed. Arriva and Connexxion buses are also running. However there may still be some delays, Qbuzz warned.
The motoring organisation ANWB said there was little trouble on the roads and that many people appeared to have taken the day off ahead of next week’s Christmas holiday.
The KNMI weather bureau expects a little more snow on the Wadden Islands and northern parts of Noord Holland province on Friday.
